What do we do?
Making Music began when the two co-founders decided to take their years of experience in both the music and education worlds and create something that would change the way young learners interact with music. When Making Music students go on to higher levels of music they already have an intuitive understanding of the musical concepts that they have been exposed to during their Making Music Experiences.​
The songs we will experience together have been composed by the Making Music team. These original works are crafted so that they introduce complex musical concepts in a way that the children can feel as they move through the experience.
In addition, Making Music is a research-based approach. Each song is designed and composed to support the Essential Musical Milestones that are the foundation of musical ability and creativity.
Making Music is all about having fun with music, learning to love singing and dancing, and becoming familiar with musical concepts that children will internalize throughout the Making Music Program in the most natural way.
During a Making Music Experience class, you will see a lot of singing, many songs, and plenty of exploration. Every note sung, every movement made, and every word spoken has been carefully chosen to introduce complex musical concepts to children.
Yes! We have created our own Signature Moves that fit our original songs. These moves expand the children’s means of musical exploration, builds their confidence and benefits both fine motor skills and gross motor skills.
